Trans Pride Plymouth
Trans Pride Plymouth was established in 2022 to address the increased challenges faced by trans people and to foster connectivity between the trans community in Plymouth and wider Devon. Trans Pride Plymouth's annual pride event encompasses a march and speeches in the city centre (Transgress), followed by a day party with an art market and performances (Transaction) capped off with a club night celebrating trans music, joy and resistance (Transcendence).
Transcendence has both brought established trans DJ talent like Karlie Marx and Jess Hands to Plymouth while also platforming emerging trans talent in the South West, such as Qwerty-uiop, Bendy Wendy, Passion's Planet and DJK Huysmans. Across the last several years Trans Pride Plymouth has also hosted a range of other activities including an exhibition featuring local trans artists, pop up cinema nights, pole dancing and Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) workshops, sea swimming, casual socials and clothes swaps.

Green Binder, Painted With Text and Illustrations
MOT/2024/NDOTC/PLYM/015
Tag This is my letter of affirmation and self compassion, written to myself the day before I (finally!) had top surgery. I have created the letter here on my first and favourite binder (from the first released by Spectrum Outfitters), and decorated it with art showing a fat nonbinary body and top surgery scars. Bodility autonomy for all of us!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Book
MOT/2024/NDOTC/PLYM/013
Tag COPY OF PRISONER OF AZKABAN. Very well loved copy from my teenage years and early adulthood. Harry Potter is one of the most important things in my life so when J K Rowling committed herself to transphobia, I was heartbroken, as many other trans people were. I wrote a letter expressing my sentimentality in the back for whoever ends up owning it in the future will understand what it meant to its previous owner. This is my favourite book ever. I see a lot of the person I want to be in Remus Lupin. Lots of love from Alex Wyatt-Witchell (they/them)

Neon Wire Spelling Avery
MOT/2024/NDOTC/PLYM/019
Tag Handcrafted neon sign of my chosed name. It was one thing to change my name on paper via deed poll, but it never felt like I'd earnt my new name. I felt people would look at me and they'd just know I had another. Silly really, but committing my name to large, tacky bright neons helped me feel I 'owned' name and noone could take it.
