Trans Pride Bristol
Trans Pride Bristol was founded in 2016 as Trans Pride South West and it was the second trans pride to be established in the UK. Trans Pride Bristol consists of several weeks of events, culminating in a day of celebrating trans people at the end of March. In 2024, Trans Pride South West rebranded to Trans Pride Bristol to reflect the increasing focus of local communities in Bristol and to give space for new trans prides in the South West to establish their own identities.
Trans Pride Bristol March
28 Mar 2026
This year we have adapted our march route so it's a bit of a closer march to our Community Day venue, the Trinity Centre.
We are still going to be loud and proud across the streets of Bristol, starting from the Cenotaph. Gather from 10.30am for speeches, with the march starting at 11.15am.

Purple Rimmel London Nail polish
MOT/2024/NDOTC/BRIS/011
Tag After buying my first item of clothing at 23, I obtained this nail polish soon after, because it perfectly colour-matched. When I visited (& came out to) my brother & my bestie in London, I spent hours carefully donning the nail polish beforehand, using a leaf to neaten up my nails where I'd overpainted!

Rebekah's Secret Grandpa Book By Andy Thornton
MOT/2024/NDOTC/BRIS/005
Tag I wrote an illustrated this children's book about a trans Grandpa for my final major project on my art foundation at Oxford Brookes in 2014. I reasearched so many "ftm" people wanting it to be accurate and representative. I didn't make the viewpoint character trans as "I wasn't trans"…. good one. Looking back, all of that research was for me. I wanted to represent older trans people who we often don't see. But I also wanted to know I had a future. I told the first person ever that I might be a boy in the last week of the course.

Rocks In A Plastic Bag
MOT/2024/NDOTC/BRIS/010
Tag The floor of my dressing room! While stuck in the closet at home, the most convenient place I can dress how I want to when going out is a driveway that leads to an alleyway behind everyone's back-gardens. Today like many days, the stones are wet courtesy of the delightful British weather :D

Scans From Personal Art Foundation Journal Titled 'Illustrations Of Ambiguity'
MOT/2024/NDOTC/BRIS/018
Tag The scans are from my 'reflective journal' that we had to keep at my art foundation. I don't know if its because my project was about transness that I felt able to so freely expose my internal fear and confusion. So here it is. In these drawings I am trying to reimagine myself. Trans men existed then, "ftm", but non-binary was almost a myth that I'd collected scraps of. The funniest thing about all of this is how subconscious it was. I wasn't aware I was trans, really. Art was the only place I gave name to it. But in doing so, I was able to give myself the clarity and certainty I needed to realise myself and come out.

She-Ra Enamel Pin
MOT/2024/NDOTC/BRIS/014
Tag I bought this pin at Pride CAF (Comic Art Fest) 2023 after finding out about the event the night before via Rebecca Burgess (one of the artists, who sold me this Catra x Adora pin) who was advertising the event to the She-Ra fandom on tumblr. I did some art of my own, had an overwhelming number of conversations, and I'd never seen so many trans people in one place before! Two Flower Hairclips
MOT/2024/NDOTC/BRIS/013
Tag When I was struggling to come out to my friends, a dear friend noticed I'd changed my name & pronouns online while they were on holiday in Australia. They helped me come out to my friends, & we had some lovely chats. They asked if I wanted a gift from Australia, & I'd always wanted to wear some cute hair clips, so they brought a bunch of these flower hairclips for me ^◡^
