Isaac"s Tags To Accompany Used Testogel Sachets
MOT000979
Tag: Tag 1: 'I started collecting and numbering my testosterone gel tubes as a project during my first year at Uni (studying Fine Art). I dreamt that one day I would show them all in number order as a display of personal development'. Tag 2: 'The goal of getting testosterone affected every aspect of my life and the never-ending wait meant that I thought about that goal more than I thought about anything'. Tag 3: 'As I went through my transition my art started becoming less and less about being trans. It became one tiny aspect of my life. This meant that I had to decide whether to keep collecting or give up and throw away all of my work'. Tag 4: 'I kept collecting and after 2+ years there were so many tubes that they became a huge burden, taking over every available space in my room so it felt like testosterone was taking over my life like it had done before'. Tag 5: 'Throwing them away would have felt like throwing away years of work, and discarding a part of myself which is why I looked into donating them to the Museum of Transology'. Tag 6: 'I have mixed feelings about my collection now but I hope as I distance myself from it and positively see it displayed in a way similar to how I had originally deemed I will feel more positively connected to it'.
