Museum Association podcast - Radical Museums

“It's interesting that you call the podcast radical. I think I'm pulling more and more away from the ideal of being radical, and of being an activist – I don't see why wanting to make the history in our museums more comprehensive and inclusive is a radical pursuit.”

In episode 2 of Radical Museums season 3, our director of publications and events @simonastephens travels to south London to interview E-J Scott, who founded the @museumoftransology in 2014.

A curator, cultural producer and academic, E-J's work focuses on enabling communities who may traditionally have been marginalised in museums to recentre their histories via participatory practice.

They are a senior lecturer on the BA (Hons) Culture, Criticism and Curation programme at Central Saint Martins (@csm_news), University of the Arts London. The Museum of Transology looks after the largest collection of material culture representing trans lives in the world.
