To celebrate the launch of new works by trans artists Travis Alabanza and Mika Onyx Johnson, the Museum of Transology is showcasing a selection of objects from its QTIBIPOC collection (queer, trans, intersex, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour). From Black Trans Lives Matter protest placards from London in 2020, right back to Zsarday’s beloved fur coat from her infamous 1992 Black Cap performance, the objects will trace the intersectionality of the donor’s black and brown trans lives. Using their own choice of artefact explained in their own words, the contributors take control of curating their personal stories, their expression of gender and their rightful place in transcestry.
